Well-shot and acted, The Woman in Cabin 10 is put over a barrel by its plot. An admirable cast headed by Keira Knightly and featuring Guy Pearce, David Ajala, Hannah Waddington, and more do their damnedest, but they can't quite rescue this creaky adaptation of the best-selling book from its predictable plot and silly twists. Kudos to Simon Stone for directing the proceedings fairly well. There are moments of suspense here and there, though the story spins its wheels once its big secret is revealed. The final insult is casting a top-tier actress like Gugu Mbatha-Raw in a five-minute role
#TheWomanInCabin10 - has anyone been holding their breath for a remake of #Flightplan? This one is not quite as disastrous. The first half could have been good if the director had played with the protagonist's perception, planted some doubt about whether what she thinks she saw was true. The "big reveal" halfway in just tells what we've known all along. And then, there are just boring chases, flatly shot, for the rest of the film.
