how could I forget it was a Steve song on Pandora which captivated me over 20 years ago when I was visiting this city, before I ever moved here?

The Weepies gave me permission to be sad and sensitive and weary and hopeful all at once. this album changed my life in a big way.

it's come to my attention that I didn't post the version of the song which to my ears is the canonical one, because I heard it first and listened to it for more than 15 years before hearing the original. so here it is!

Steve is much more grown up in this one ... and it has that inimitable Weepies sound to it. they'd been together for several years at this point.

came across the original version of a song I've listened to for years - from before the husband & wife duo who re-recorded it got together, when it was just the (future, and now past) husband's song … and I thought at first I might not like this version, but no, it's a keeper, and it's cool to finally hear what he brought to #TheWeepies before his future wife had any influence like she did on the album after this one.
