Mike got away with it, he played the final really well and won. Spectacular play as the path was narrow and it needed him to break up a long standing alliance at short notice.
Really dramatic finale, a great episode, and, honestly, I felt genuinely terrible for Gurleen and especially for Leroy.
And this marks where Mike has stopped playing a good game. Unusually no slip up or personality shift that people jump on (Travon remains the only Faithful with sense).
More Mike forgot to count. He blackmailed and immediately backstabbed where there was no obvious need. Going into the final as a lone Traitor is … most unwise.
Fun dilemma - allow a murder or banish but change the prize pot by ±$10k.
They chose to banish and Mike's 🔪 led to Kuzie going and more money to for the pot.
A shame, as she was a joy to watch, and good at this. Don't think there was any way to defend herself though.
Mike and Travon the best players left, Gurleen a distant third. Perhaps Travon's mini-breakdown saved him from being dispatched with all the other good Faithful!
Kevin was an aggressive player and it's honestly wonderful to see that kind of player go too far and get immediately banished for it.
They couldn't even get a reaction shot of people looking upset to have turfed out a Faithful. I think plenty knew but didn't care.
Also what did Dominic get disqualified for? Cheating somehow?
An odd group of Faithful. They seem smart enough, but are random and seem to struggle with basics of the game.
Kevin is the new least impressive player. A Faithful intentionally gunning against other Faithful. 😖
Production-wise it's a weird edit - overdone cliffhangers, cutting too harshly. We're halfway through with a small cast and there are multiple people we've barely met. An issue when the characters are half the appeal!
Generally a very high quality show in all its versions.
Some interesting dynamics in this one too - quite competitive game players in the Faithful who don't seem to understand the game (which is funny), Traitors considering murder for being bad at tasks (logical, but not seen it before).
So far I'm most impressed by Kuzie (Traitor) and least impressed by Donna (Faithful) - plenty of time for things to change though.
Yes, I'm practically a The Traitors account at the mo. Started the Canadian one while waiting for a backlog to build up for US S3.
The host's good but so far my least favourite, but it does have the second best setting after Ardross (sorry Hvedholm).
It feels slightly transitional between the US version and the other versions I've seen (UK/AU/NZ/DK), a little of the US-style reality TV baggage. But not too much.
Oof. That was a tough season to watch. Sorry to say, but this was the worst batch of Faithfuls I've seen yet.
Not all of them (❤️ u Melinda, you were robbed), but - as is often the case - the loudest ones were also the most wrong, and cost them the game.
No shade on Neda, she played a great game and deserved the win, it's just that the Faithfuls really took themselves out of her way.
