#TheToweringInferno (1974)
At the opening party of a colossal San Francisco skyscraper, a massive fire breaks out due to careless building practices by the contractor, threatening to destroy the tower and everyone in it.

For the first hour, #KingKong (1976) is an competent 1970s thriller. #JeffBridges and #JessicaLange have chemistry. #CharlesGrodin's overconfident oil exec manages to be a bigger douche than Bridges' always-correcting Princeton paleontogist. Director #JohnGuillermin keeps tension building effectively as he did in #TheToweringInferno (1973) and #TheBlueMax (1966)

#TheToweringInferno.

This episode is perfect! It delivers high-concept action and adventure, as well as a genuine powderkeg of emotion. Even the present-day b-story was good.

A major (and beautiful) story arc is seemingly concluded here, but we end on some big cliffhangers. The most intriguing one, by far, is the one taking place back in the 1970s…

#FridayThrillerClub I always thought the scene where Dough falls down the swinging stair banister during the explosion looked really cool.

Anyone else feel satisfied because they’ve been rooting for the fire and the cat from the start
