I have finished Surge 2, defeated Brother Eli and bid him farewell.

This game is now my favorite soulslike. It is really really fun.
Respeccing/regearing was always just one hour or so of farming upgrade materials away.
There is no finite items lacking which will make your progress more difficult.
The bosses do bonk you on the head if you make a mistake but they have clear, limited movesets that you could learn in one or two attempts, have (mostly) no endless AoE attacks and no instakills that you need to block with frame-perfect precision.

And then you meet the final boss and it has all of the above.
The final boss fight was NOT fun. It was not fair. It had all the things I do not like about boss fight designs.

I beat him anyway.

Beat the Collective Incinerator on my second try. Again, equipping different gear and implants made this not quite a breeze but it didn't feel like hitting a brick wall over and over again.

This feeling is why I love this game.

20 hours into The Surge 2, and I could probably have beaten the game by now, but exploring every path, upgrading my gear and such is just too much fun.

Beat Delver Echo Gamma yesterday first try, but Echo Beta is kicking my butt. Not enough room to maneauver, and not enough opportunities to deal damage.
Glad it's an optional boss.

One thing I'll say about The Surge 2 today:
I keep getting lost a lot. There's so many backtrack "shortcuts" that I sometimes run around in circles.
OTOH, I just banked 50k scrap and leveled up three times, so I'm good with it.

Tried beating Little Johnny for the last two days, not getting anywhere.

One respec later I beat Little Johnny easily by wearing him down, constantly healing myself with the energy-injectable healing implant.
Even got the V2.0 weapon from him, without having looked up how.

Someone recently described The Surge 2 to me as "what if soulslikes were actually fun" and I have to agree very much right now.

One great thing coming from The Surge 1 right into The Surge 2: The controls come very natural, to the point of killing the first boss on second try, slicing his arm and gaining his weapon.
