The Sudbury Devil (continued)

Would definitely recommend it. It's unrated but probably an 'R.' Not for young teens or kids.

It didn't do the normal commercial release. It was released via streaming. The cast and crew get a fairer and more direct cut of the profits.

It can be found on Tubi and Amazon. But I would recommend getting it via the creator and Vimeo's VHX service at https://atunsheifilms.vhx.tv/

Rewatched the independent horror film "The Sudbury Devil." Had streamed it when it first came out in Sep 2023.

Set in 1678, two magistrates go hunting demonic forces in the woods outside the town Sudbury, Colony of Massachusetts Bay.

Very well done and well acted. All the dialogue is in Original Pronunciation. That's how the English settlers would have talked in 1670s. Easily understood and adds to the movie.

Bringing a film to Belfast before it goes to Britain or Ireland and boy is the shoe on the other foot now for some!

Here is my first ever movie review. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

The Sudbury Devil (2023)

Short version: Would recommend this mystery/horror film.

Plot: Two Puritan Magistrates are investigating ungodly events in the woods near Sudbury-town.

Unrated with sexual content, gore, and violence.

The film is set in Massachusetts circa 1680. What make it good is that it's well written, well filmed, and well acted. The actors are all speaking in Original Punctuation (OP), ie, how the English Puritan colonist would actually speak. The OP dialogue is easy to understand and helps fit the movie into it's time period.

Hard part will be finding it. It's an independent film. So the distribution will be limited.

I got to see it via a one-time streaming that is part of the initial release.
