**Dean Stockwell, Leslie Nielsen, Eddie Firestone, Karen Carlson.** Terrific performances from the guest cast in this one. It breaks formula by sending Mike undercover as a wino. Half the scenes are him working alone, and the other half follow Steve’s side of the investigation. Good mystery. **Mitchell Ryan, Charles Aidman, Richard Egan.** Superb. Top-quality script, performances and location filming at the docks. It’s an elaborate story with many elements in play. At the core is a priest trying to provide medical aid to a badly injured man on the run with a box of heroin worth a quarter of a million dollars. A priest (Fr. Scarne) won't tell Stone where a murderer (Abel Hoffman) is hiding. Stakes are raised by drug smugglers looking for a stolen shipment of heroin.

**Jim Davis, Dick Sargent, Barbara Rush, Scott Hylands, Jeff Corey.** Important politician murdered. Cops stonewalled by various obnoxious, powerful types. It’s a strong start. Script switches gears at the midpoint when Mike learns that the man’s wife is an old love he’s not seen in years. Becomes a different type of story from there on in. **Darleen Carr, Joe Don Baker.** Not quite as strong as last 2 eps. Rapist-murderer targets Mike’s daughter. 1st of 12 episodes for Darleen Carr. Both she and Joe Don Baker get a lot to do and are excellent. Some story element far-fetched, but the way he’s caught–the little kid remembering him–is cleverly foreshadowed at the very start. _Jan-Jul 1973: Aired by ABC on Thursdays after Kung Fu.
