Librarian Kiela and her assistant sentient spider plant Caz have to flee the Great Library of Alyssium while it is literally in flames. With several crates of books they make their way to Kiela’s childhood home on a remote island. Come to find out, the empire has been draining power from the island, Kiela sets out to set things right. This book is filled with cozy vibes, raspberry jam - and a handsome neighbour set out to help her any way he can.

Just finished The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst. I love my cozy books and this is a good fit for the genre, but not for me personally. (As a reference, my 5⭐️ Cozy Reads are things like the Legends & Lattes series, and The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches).

I visualize heavily and I had a hard time "seeing" several elements, and felt like the writing wasn't as skilled as I like. Good stuff: heroine is very autistic coded, found family, sweet romance.
