Ok, I fibbed. One last go-to comfort re-read: the #Discworld series, also by Terry Pratchett (Is listing an entire series cheating? I can't possibly pick one. Sorry not sorry.)

Awhile ago, last year sometime I think, I rewatched the #movie #Annihilation (starring Natalie Portman). I really enjoyed the #movie, and I feel like it still held up to my tastes.

After this I got interested in the books, and grabbed them on #Kindle. #TheSouthernReachTrilogy was such an interesting read. I found myself absorbed in the narrative and the way in which it was told.

The first book of the series was Annihilation and it was different to the movie, somehow I felt it was more eerie. I suppose it is like that when you read something instead of watching it.

I couldn't put the #book down, and then the second(#Authority) was a jarring change of pace - at least that's how I remembered feeling in the first couple of chapters. However, as the chapters went on it was fascinating and insightful.

The third (#Acceptance) integrated different elements of the first and second books was fantastic. I remember speaking to my partner constantly about them. Haha.

I enjoyed the series so much, that I went and found all three #Hardcover editions. I think it might be time to read them again!

If anyone else has seen the movie, or read the books, or both, I would love to hear your opinions.

I was just speaking to a colleague today about the #books, which has got me all fired up. haha
