When thinking of #phonaesthetics in English it is most common to think of the phrase "cellar door" as stated by #JRRTolkein in his 1955 lecture "English and Welsh".

Terribly sad news to hear of the death of #MichaelGambon, #Dumbledore to millions, a favourite of my grandparents in #TheSingingDetective, but today I want to point to his hysterical supporting rôle in #Quartet (2012), in which - as in HP - he acted alongside Maggi Smith.

Michael Gambon had a unique voice. I’m rewatching The Singing Detective to imbibe in his narration. It’s never been easy to watch in the US. Years ago I had to rent it on multiple discs mailed to me from Netflix. That service is something else that’s just left our world. My usual go to for multi streaming search, JustWatch, only shows results for the American version. In the spirit of #Gambon appreciation I herein share link to #TheSingingDetective on YouTube:
