I loved loved this book. The twin storylines grabbed my attention and held it to the end. These women, Johanna and Emsley, are strong and fight for what they want, are blocked and rejected and keep going. The art world is fascinating in Jo’s world and the present day at Violet’s house in Emsley’s world is poignant and filled with fascinating characters. So sad and hopeful and funny and beautiful
