Onpas harmi, ettei #theroses elokuva saanut suomalaista nimeä - nyt on vaikeaa löytää somesta, mitä muut leffapostaajat siitä pitivät.

Olen aiemman filmatisoinnin joskus nähnyt, mutta en sitä juuri muista. Arvostelujen mukaan tässä oli vähemmän väkivaltaa, mutta omaan makuuni silti ihan liikaa inhottavia temppuja. Leffa ei onnistunut herättämään isoja tunteita, enkä syttynyt myöskään sen lopetukselle.

Parasta leffassa olivat perheen lapset ja sivuhenkilöiden touhut. Kirjaan verrattuna sukupuoliroolit oli vaihdettu, mikä oli toimiva ratkaisu.

I watched #TheRoses2025 Saturday. Maybe I am the problem, but they didn't seem to have such a toxic relationship, at least right until the end.
It feels strange

"The Roses" tour de force for Olivia Coleman and Cumberbatch, somewhat less scaring than Turner/Douglass original, but still great.

Colman and Cumberbatch are both sensational in the lead roles. Their performances are both brilliant and they have fantastic chemistry with each other.
They really get to flex their acting muscles too, bring great during both emotional scenes and comedic scenes.
