The Point Reyes Beached

The Pt Reyes has been one of my favorite photographic subjects ever since I discovered washed up on the shore of Tomales Bay many years ago.
I drove out to her a couple of weeks ago as there was talk of having her removed as she has now become a safety hazard.

The Point Reyes In Black and White

The Pt Reyes has been one of my favorite photographic subjects ever since I discovered washed up on the shore of Tomales Bay many years ago. When I first shot her I didn't really know the significance of the boat and why she was there. What I do know is that over the last 5-7 years I have watched her slowly deteriorate and return to nature.

The Point Reyes at Low Tide

The Point Reyes is a weathered and abandoned boat that sits partially submerged in the calm waters of Tomales Bay. It had been a few years since I was last out to visit here. I was really surprised to see how much more she had decayed. The bow is completely severed now and the hull has finally given way to the weight of the cabin.
