The #SundayPodcastRec

Podcast: #ThePoetryOfScience
Host: Sam Illingworth
Comes out: weekly
Duration: approx. 7 minutes
Subject: science and poetry

The official about:
New scientific research, interpreted and presented via the medium of poetry.

My thoughts:
This is a great podcast if you love poetry and science, and don’t have much time. Sam has a brilliant way of turning what can be dry research material into delightful snippets of verse.

He weaves words as if by magic - reading his original poetry, along with the science that inspires it - and always manages to find the perfect accompaniment for his own work in the works of other poets from all walks of life that relates in some way to the subject at hand.

It’s like a taste test of poetry and science - a morsel to intrigue you without overwhelming you, so you might go off and look into the subject area yourself.

My rating:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m not sure if Sam is on Mastodon or the Fediverse more widely, but he is a wonderful poet who runs the journal “Consilience” which is about bringing together science and the arts (first link below). He also has a great podcast in the same vein called “The Poetry of Science” (available on all good podcast services) and the associated blog (second link below).
