**Charlotte Rae, Ray Walston.** The elements that frequently pop up in the scripts are included here. Paul doesn’t like… his sister (Rae) and she’s come for a visit. He’s extra stressed because of… a work thing. This time, it’s a Japanese businessman (Walston) that he must impress. Turns out the important visitor is more impressed with Paul’s annoying sister. A mildly-amusing half-hour with a couple of laughs. _Fall 1972: ABC aired The Paul Lynde Show as a replacement for The Super in the first hour of Wednesday prime time before The ABC Wednesday Movie of the Week. Against it, The Carol Burnett Show on CBS and Adam-12 on NBC._ 6/10
**Barbara Rhoades.** One of the better episodes, largely because of Rhoades, who is very funny as a gorgeous airhead secretary. Paul can’t take his eyes off her legs, but he’s forced to hire Howie–his son-in-law–for the temp job. The rest is the usual Paul-hates-Howie stuff. Lynde is funnier than the script. The ending works well. _Fall 1972: ABC aired The Paul Lynde Show as a replacement for The Super in the first hour of Wednesday prime time before The ABC Wednesday Movie of the Week. Against it, The Carol Burnett Show on CBS and Adam-12 on NBC._ 7/10
**Alan Oppenheimer.** Nice to see the show (finally) giving Pamelyn Ferdin a lot to do. This episode revolves around her character, Sally. First, Paul forces her to break up with her boyfriend, and then later, she runs away from home. It’s a very, very average script. Lots and lots of unfunny gags, and a few that raise a laugh. The show is harmless. Lynde carries it. Even when the jokes fall flat, he’s likeable and amusing to watch. The best joke here is delivered by Elizabeth Allen (at Paul’s expense), and there’s another big reaction from the audience when the show takes a shot at timeslot competitor Adam-12. _Fall 1972: ABC aired The Paul Lynde Show as a replacement for The Super in the first hour of Wednesday prime time before The ABC Wednesday Movie of the Week.
