The other thing that struck me, apart from dreadful hairstyles, was there are lots of similarities with Ronnie Lane, when he retreated to his farm post Faces and just wrote and performed what the hell he wanted to, and toured in a bus, all filmed for the excellent documentary The Passing Show.
