Usa e Iran, il nodo dei beni congelati 
Il segretario USA al Tesoro, Scott Bessent, intende mettere i beni iraniani congelati a disposizione degli Stati arabi del Golfo Persico per compensarli dei danni causati dagli attacchi di Teheran, passati e futuri. È quanto apprende Reuters da fonti ben informate.
Bessent, prosegue Reuters, avrebbe chiesto ai suoi funzionari di valutare l'entità dei danni già subiti in modo da calcolare l'ammontare del possibile risarcimento.
Il Tesoro, riferisce un'altra fonte al New York Post, utilizzerà "tutti gli strumenti disponibili per consentire che tutte le risorse iraniane siano messe a disposizione dei nostri alleati del Golfo per sostenere la ricostruzione e le riparazioni per eventuali danni futuri causati dall'Iran".
Ieri Mohsen Rezaei, un consigliere della Guida Suprema iraniana Mojtaba Khamenei, aveva dichiarato alla Cnn che lo sblocco di beni iraniani congelati per 24 miliardi di dollari era uno dei punti cruciali della trattativa con gli USA.

Matthew Hertgen, 31, the young man accused of having murdered his younger brother Joseph in the family’s luxurious apartment in Princeton, New Jersey, was found dead in prison in what authorities believe was a suicide. The father of the two brothers, David Hertgen, is a well-known executive in the technology sector and the financial president of WiLine Networks. The family lived between the Princeton area and the New Jersey Shore and was described by friends and acquaintances as a “perfect” family.

Matthew Hertgen was charged with murder and faced life in prison. According to American media reports, in the weeks following his arrest, he showed severe psychiatric problems and behaviors compatible with a state of delusion.

È Rana che mette nero su bianco nella sua denuncia di esser stato lo “schiavo sessuale” da ufficio del suo capo, Lorna Hajdini, executive director di due anni maggiore.
L’ex banchiere nella sua denuncia racconta di esser stato droga e violentato dal capo e che “quando ho cercato di cambiare ufficio ho subito ritorsioni”, oltre a puntare il dito contro la stessa JP Morgan accusando la banda d’affari di aver coperto la sua manager.
JP Morgan aveva effettuato una indagine interna, ottenendo l’accesso a mail e telefoni dei due, ma chiudendo l’inchiesta senza formulare alcun rilievo. Anzi, al termine dell’indagine era stato messo nero su bianco che Lorna Hajdini, presunta molestatrice, aveva collaborato “completamente” all’indagine, mentre Rana invece no.
Una vicenda che poteva non finire in tribunale: a Rana erano stati proposti un milione di dollari per non rendere pubblico il caso, lui ha rifiutato e ha denunciato il tutto chiedendo oltre 20 milioni di dollari di risarcimento, mentre sull’altro fronte l’accusata Lorna Hajdini nega ogni addebito.

Storia che per certi versi sembra emergere da una serie tv Netflix. Come nella testimonianza di un amico di Rana, agli atti dell’inchiesta, ospite a New York in un appartamento nel settembre 2024, che racconta di essere stato svegliato nel cuore della notte mentre dormiva su un sofà da Lorna Hajdini, sbronza e nuda, che gli chiedeva di partecipare a “una cosa a tre” nella stanza da letto accanto. Amico al quale Rana aveva confidato le continue molestie ricevute dal suo capo, i nomignoli razzisti legati alla sua etnia.
Non solo. Come scoperto dal New York Post, Rana avrebbe finto la morte del padre per potersi dedicare a raccogliere i documenti per la causa contro il suo capo, con JP Morgan che avrebbe scoperto il tutto.

A story that could not have ended in court: a million dollars was offered to Rana to keep the case public, he refused and denounced everything, demanding over $20 million in compensation, while on the other side the accused Lorna Hajdini denies all charges.

A story that, to some extent, seems to emerge from a Netflix series. Chi va a Disneyland può contare su una ampia offerta di ristoranti, uno di questi si chiama Napa Rose ed è un punto di riferimento per l’alta cucina californiana. Almeno, così pareva finché non è diventata virale una recensione postata da una cliente su Reddit. Si tratta del ristorante del Grand Californian Hotel e l’anonima utente ha spiegato di avere speso 1200 dollari (circa 1100 euro, 220 euro a persona) in cinque ma di non essere uscita soddisfatta. “Il cibo era molto mediocre, quasi senza sapore. Niente era disgustoso, ma tutto aveva lo stesso gusto. Nessuna esplosione di sapori”.
Nel post non mancano le foto di alcuni piatti, tra cui una crespella di cavolo al miso con scalogno e un piatto di pasta: tutti, a suo dire, deludenti. Non solo: la cliente è rimasta delusa anche dall’abbigliamento degli altri avventori che, secondo lei, non era adeguato a un locale che ambisce alla stella Michelin (un modo di vedere molto ‘old style’, va detto): “C’è un codice di abbigliamento che nessuno rispetta”, ha scritto, spiegando di essersi presentata in abito e tacchi per poi ritrovarsi accanto a clienti in felpa, jeans e t-shirt. Critiche anche al personale, ritenuto “non all’altezza”. Insomma, una stroncatura su tutta la linea ripresa, tra gli altri, dal New York Post.

Not only that, but the customer was also disappointed by the attire of other diners who, in her opinion, was not appropriate for a restaurant aspiring to a Michelin star (a very “old-fashioned” way of looking at things, to be said): “There’s a dress code that no one respects,” she wrote, explaining that she had presented herself in a dress and heels to find herself next to customers in sweatshirts, jeans, and t-shirts. Criticism was also directed at the staff, who were considered “not up to par.” In short, it was a scathing review picked up, among others, by the New York Post.

Washington.- El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, afirmó este miércoles que existe la posibilidad de retomar el próximo viernes las negociaciones con el Gobierno iraní en Pakistán, después de que el alto el fuego fuera prorrogado de forma indefinida.

«Es posible», respondió en declaraciones al diario The New York Post al ser preguntado por las informaciones procedentes de Islamabad que apuntan a una eventual reanudación de las conversaciones de paz en las próximas 36 o 72 horas.

Trump anunció el martes su decisión de extender de forma indefinida el alto el fuego con Irán hasta que el Gobierno de la República Islámica, al que considera dividido, le presente una propuesta unificada de acuerdo.

El presidente estadounidense tomó esa decisión a pocas horas de que este miércoles venciera el alto el fuego vigente y a pesar de que el mismo martes declaró que no pretendía prorrogarlo y que estaba dispuesto a retomar los «bombardeos» contra Irán.

EE.UU. niega haber puesto plazos

Asimismo, la Casa Blanca aclaró que Trump no ha fijado ningún plazo a Irán para alcanzar un acuerdo que ponga fin a la guerra, después de prorrogar el alto el fuego.

«El presidente no ha establecido un plazo firme para recibir una propuesta iraní», declaró en una rueda de prensa la portavoz de la Casa Blanca, Karoline Leavitt, quien agregó: «En última instancia, el cronograma estará dictado por el comandante en jefe (Donald Trump)».

La portavoz desmintió así la información publicada por algunos medios de comunicación de que Trump habría puesto un plazo de entre tres y cinco días para que el Gobierno iraní le presente una propuesta de paz.

Según Leavitt, Trump está ofreciendo «flexibilidad» a un régimen que está, según dijo, diezmado y dividido por la ofensiva emprendida por Estados Unidos e Israel desde el 28 de febrero.

Irán afirmó este miércoles que volverá a la mesa de negociación con Estados Unidos cuando se den las «condiciones necesarias y razonables» y aseguró que el país está preparado para defenderse en caso de nuevos ataques.

A pesar del alto el fuego, Irán mantiene prácticamente bloqueado el estrecho de Ormuz, clave para el comercio de petróleo, y Estados Unidos aplica un bloqueo naval contra buques y puertos iraníes. –sn–

Ha del clamoroso ciò che è stato scoperto dalla polizia nepalese: alcune guide del Monte Everest sono state accusate, a seguito di un’indagine, di aver avvelenato segretamente alpinisti stranieri. Con quale scopo? Costringerli a ricorrere a operazioni di soccorso – tendenzialmente, in elicottero – tali da generare una frode, nei confronti delle assicurazioni stipulate dagli alpinisti, di circa 20 milioni di euro.
La truffa – scrivono il New York Post e il The Independent – che ha già causato 11 arresti, avrebbe coinvolto, tra il 2022 e il 2025, la bellezza di 4.782 alpinisti stranieri mentre la polizia ha dichiarato di aver scoperto oltre 300 casi di presunti falsi salvataggi, con fatture per un totale di quasi 20 milioni di euro addebitate agli stessi scalatori e alle compagnie assicurative.

What is truly astonishing is what the Nepalese police discovered: several Mount Everest guides have been accused, following an investigation, of secretly poisoning foreign climbers. What was the purpose? To force them to request rescue operations – predominantly by helicopter – designed to create a fraud, against the insurance policies taken out by the climbers, worth approximately 20 million euros.

The scam – as reported by the New York Post and The Independent – which has already resulted in 11 arrests, involved a total of 4,782 foreign climbers between 2022 and 2025, while the police have discovered over 300 cases of alleged false rescues, with bills totaling almost 20 million euros charged to the climbers themselves and the insurance companies.
