Despite plans to make a sequel that would use the second half of the book, “The Neverending Story 2” was mired in legal, funding and production troubles that would last the rest of the 1980s. All of the child actors had to be recast due to aging and the adults were recast due to them having long since moved on from the production- with the exception of Thomas Hill, who plays Koreander the bookkeeper in all 3 films.
