British pubs are a national institution, drawing locals and tourists alike.

But there's trouble brewing: the unofficial title of the oldest riverside pub in London has long been disputed, with two establishments claiming the honour.

The Mayflower claims it was established in 1550, The Prospect of Whitby claims it was established in 1520.

Harwich "Home of The Mayflower" as well as naval things, forts. Four of the people on The Mayflower came from Harwich, I'm sort of guessing lots of Ancestry USA people visit here? There are also Dutch connections.
The actual town is desolate, a few places to eat alongside all the Heritage buildings. Most people and shops seem to be on south coast at Dovercourt.
