On the ten year anniversary of the passing of the artist known as David Jones I took myself to an inconveniently distant picture house on an overland train to consume it properly on a silver screen.. I have never wept so much at the end of a documentary. Spolier Alert: it wasn't so much the portrayal of his incredible courage and devotion to his art form in the face of impending mortality (I shed plenty of those tears in January 2o16) but it was the footage of David's epic appearance on the pyramid stage forty years after he appeared at the very first Glastonbury. I had never seen this footage and, of course, I did not attend (as I was wasting mortal years in the blossoming Fourth Reich at the time) And what majestic Anthem did he start with... "Love me, love me, love me, love me Say you do Let me fly away With you For my love is like The wind And wild is the wind Wild is the wind"
