Also on the topic of #Control, the "random items having supernatural effects" idea comes straight out of #TheLostRoom, a 2006 TV mini series. I liked the idea back then, but let's be real here, it's also a bunch of plot devices for authors to write whatever the hell they want to. They can always just introduce a new item to further the plot whenever they write themselves into a corner. That's what's happened in the TV series as well...
