Rewatching (mostly listening) #StarTrek #LowerDecks as background while I work, I arrive at season 3 episode 8, #Paradoxus, and as Boims and the crew save the day in the opening of the episode, I wonder: Is the USS #Wayfarer named as an homage to #BeckyChambers?
I mean, #TheLongWayToASmallAngryPlanet came out in 2014, and season 3 of #LD aired in 2022. Maybe the writers are fans, you know, because the Lower Decks are like a family.
Am I overthinking this?
I had no idea what to expect from this book, but it wound up being charming, engaging and felt fresh, unique and character-driven. #TheLongWayToASmallAngryPlanet doesn't feel that long at all by the end

Por cierto, hasta hace unos meses que leí un libro donde unos aliens se asqueaban de la costumbre humana de comer leche materna fuera de la niñez —¡Y de otras especies! para acabarla de hacer más rara—, nunca había considerado que era raro que comiéramos #queso.
El libro era #TheGalaxyAndTheGroundWithin, de #BeckyChambers. Está muy bueno, pero prefiero el 1° de esa serie #TheLongWaytoaSmallAngryPlanet

#TheLongWayToASmallAngryPlanet is a fantastic, cosy book, I love the crew dynamics. I enjoyed the lighter take on the future of interstellar travel but it isn’t without conflict and darker chapters, some historic, some ongoing.
I can’t wait to continue the series, Chambers does a fantastic job creating aliens that feel alien all while keeping them relatable.
Someone described it to me as a more modern take on Firefly, with less conflict. And they are pretty bang on.

Currently bouncing back and forth between two different books, one hardcover and one digital book. I like them both, but I keep getting interrupted when I sit down and open The Secret Book of Flora Lea. For that reason, I’m further along in The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet.

#TheLongWaytoaSmallAngryPlanet: My first foray into cozy #Fantasy/ #SiFi and an excellent one to boot. Becky Chambers crafts a rich and diverse universe built around a cast of equally diverse characters.
The crew of the Wayfarer has little internal conflict but that doesn’t mean her universe is tame. Species have prejudices and conflicts, cultures and needs.
Rosemary is a great character to join the crew with, she is young and naive but not foolish or ignorant by any means.
