In other #TheLongDark news, I finally got the Living off the Land #achievement which means that I don't have to worry about eating man-made food, etc anymore. This will make exploring much easier since I won't have to concentrate so much on hunting and fishing

Living Off the Land

Living Off the Land is an achievement in The Long Dark. This achievement is obtained after surviving for twenty-five consecutive days by only consuming calories obtained from animals or plants harvested by the player in a single Survival Mode game. Today in #TheLongDark, I went out looking for a maple sapling so that I could eventually craft a travois to use for base supply consolidation. Instead, I ran into a wolf that surprised me as I turned a corner. I didn't get a chance to pull my rifle out fast enough and he was on me before I knew it. Luckily I got him off of me and caused some serious damage with my axe. I followed his trail for a bit until I found him lying in the snow, ready for harvesting.

Thus far I've also avoided consuming any non-natural food, drink, medicine, etc for the past week+ since I'm trying to get the "Living off the Land" achievement

Today in #TheLongDark I delivered some supplies to the trader box to make good on my trade deal - this included fresh meat, cured skins and water. I ran short of ptarmigan fluff, and there isn't any in the coastal highway region so I'll need to go somewhere else to complete the trade. It doesn't seem worth it for 5 rifle rounds... at the same time, I wouldn't mind going somewhere else since I'm starting to get sick of this area. 77 days in, 23 left to get to 100 days :)
