RobertI’m up to episode 14 of The Legend of Anle. I’m enjoying it - it’s utterly ridiculous and not making any attempt to be too serious or grounded in any actual history, but it’s lighthearted fun. But I can’t stand the fake Di Ziyuan/Cheng’en. TSTL.
Stygian Selkie (she/her)It is kind of surreal watching #TheLongBallad so soon after watching #TheLegendOfAnle. I keep reading things into Liu Yunning’s performance that aren’t necessarily there because of their characters’ cover relationship in Anle.
#TheLegendOfAnle Important footnote: I looked it up and Luo Mingxi’s actor (Liu Yu Ning) is a hulking 6’2”, so every bit as towering as he looks in the show and I love that for him.

#TheLegendOfAnle I do feel like I’m getting a leeetle impatient with these final episodes. It feels like they’re dragging it out a bit and it’s making it more soapy? But then I’m so sure I’m about to lose characters I love that I’m still on the hook, just like waiting to learn everyone’s fates.
