Recent surveys have revealed surprising shifts in the political preferences and values of young Israeli voters, indicating a strong right-wing alignment.

According to a recent Maariv poll published this past week conducted by Lazar Research, led by Dr. Menahem Lazar in collaboration with Panel4All, a majority of first-time voters in Israel’s upcoming Knesset elections-young people between the ages of 18 and 22-identify as right-wing.

The survey finds that 56% of this age group considers itself right-wing, compared with 44% of Israelis aged 23 and older.

Among younger Israelis, 22% describe themselves as center-right, 14% as centrist (compared with 27% of older Israelis), and 8% identify as center-left or left-wing.

The poll also found that the preferred prime ministerial candidate among young voters is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, garnering 35% support, followed by former prime minister Naftali Bennett at 19%. Other candidates received considerably lower levels of support.

Post-October 7 identity – The survey also revealed that the events surrounding October 7, 2023, and their aftermath have had a profound impact on young people’s relationship with their faith and Jewish traditions.

More than half (57%) of respondents indicated that their sense or practice of religious faith has grown stronger since October 7, while 54% reported a heightened connection to Jewish tradition.

This surge in religious identification comes amid an overwhelming sense of pride in their Israeli identity. 68% of respondents expressed pride in being Israeli, with 46% calling Israel a “very good” place to live, and 36% labeling it a “good” place to live, culminating in a 79% overall satisfaction rate with life in Israel.

Breaking these sentiments down further, young Israelis aged 18-20 are the most proud to be Israeli, with 75% expressing strong national pride. Religious individuals also showed a higher level of national pride, with 85% affirming they were very proud to be Israeli.

Reserves Service – The survey also sheds light on Israel’s high military readiness, with 18% of young people having served in the reserves since October 7, 2023. Half of these reservists reported serving for several hundred days.

In response to potential future reserve duty, a significant majority, 64%, stated they would report without hesitation. Another 33% said they would do so out of necessity, while only 3% expressed uncertainty or a refusal to serve again.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said that a long-term solution to the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz would include the construction of pipelines that would carry the Gulf state’s oil and gas to the Mediterranean.

“Long-term solutions include rerouting energy pipelines westward, across Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea and Mediterranean, bypassing Iran’s geographic choke point,” Netanyahu explained in an interview with conservative US media outlet Newsmax.

Currently, the Strait is one of the main chokepoints in the energy market, with 20% of global oil exports passing through it.

While Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman have territorial waters in the Strait, the presence of Iran on the other side of Hormuz has made it vulnerable, with the Islamic regime having the capabilities of threatening global energy markets by attacking ships that go through the Strait.

This has been Iran’s main strategy during the current war, alongside its missile attacks towards Israel and the Gulf States. Netanyahu noted that, while a military solution might offer short-term stability, a deal that eliminates the strategic importance of the Strait might be the best route long-term.

‘Beyond halfway point’: Netanyahu avoids giving precise end date to war – Netanyahu also said in the interview with Newsmax that the war with Iran is “beyond its halfway point,” although he avoided giving a precise end date for the war.

“We’re beyond the halfway point in terms of mission success,” Netanyahu said, adding that the IDF’s current focus is on destroying the remaining nuclear capabilities of the Iranian regime.

“We’ve already degraded their missile capabilities, destroyed factories, and eliminated key nuclear scientists,” he explained, warning that Iran is “pursuing nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them to American cities. That’s what this war is about, preventing that outcome.”

Netanyahu also pointed out that the regime was able to attack the Diego Garcia base in the Indian Ocean, with this being Iran’s longest strike and a demonstration that their missiles could reach almost any country in the region, including most of Europe.

“It wasn’t an intercontinental missile, but it’s getting there, about 4,000 km. That puts much of Europe within range,” Netanyahu pointed out.

Israel’s Knesset Approves Death Penalty For Terrorists Bill

For decades, Israel has long been the target of terrorists from the Middle East and also those from other parts of the world. Countless people died in acts of violence and destruction committed by the terrorists. Knowing this, the Knesset of Israel approved a bill that would legislate the death penalty for terrorists with the tally of 62 to 48, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post.

The Knesset plenum passed a law mandating the death penalty for terrorists in Israel in final readings on Monday evening. The bill passed with 62 lawmakers in favor, 48 against, and one abstained.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Knesset to vote in favor of the controversial legislation, openly showing his support.

The bill, which was sponsored by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit Party, would, according to its proponents, act as a deterrent against terror and serve a measure of justice for victims of terrorism.

Ben-Gvir has pushed for the legislation since the start of his tenure as national security minister, repeatedly stating that its passage was a condition of Otzma Yehudit’s coalition agreement with Netanyahu.

Upon the bill’s passage, Ben-Gvir celebrated, stating, “Today, the State of Israel changes the rules of the game: anyone who murders Jews will no longer breathe freely or enjoy prison privileges.”

“This is a day of justice for the victims, a day of deterrence for the enemies. No more revolving doors for terrorists, only a clear decision. Those who choose terror choose death. Those who believe do not fear. The people of Israel live!” he added.

Discussions on the bill have been held in the plenum since morning, ahead of its second and third readings. The bill passed its first reading in November 2025 and has been debated in the Knesset National Security Committee since then.

The updated outline of the bill proposes that executions for terrorists would be carried out by hanging, implemented by the Israel Prison Service. The bill stipulates that a terrorist who intentionally kills a person as part of an act of terrorism will be sentenced to death.

From the outset, Ben-Gvir wanted an automatic death penalty for terrorism convictions, and that was the outline passed in the first reading. The revised version stipulates that a judge would decide between capital punishment and life in prison.

Terrorists from the West Bank, however, would still get the automatic death penalty, barring specific appeals.

The legislation has undergone several changes in recent weeks to soften some of its technical aspects, following criticism that certain provisions were too harsh or unrealistic.

The bill had also originally proposed carrying out executions by lethal injection before switching to hanging. Under the current outline, the execution would be carried out within a defined time frame of up to 90 days from the date of the sentence.

Strong opposition to the bill has also come from lawmakers within the Arab parties in the Knesset. Ben-Gvir has clashed with them on numerous occasions as the bill was being developed.

Yisrael Beytenu Party leader Avigdor Liberman voted in favor of the bill after his stance had been unclear.  On Sunday, it was reported that his party would only vote in favor of the bill if Netanyahu and Arye Deri, leader of the Shas Party, arrived to vote.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) stated that he opposed the bill during remarks at the plenum. “What is on the Knesset table here is not a law. It is a distorted public-relations stunt, cynically using the justifiable pain and anger of Israeli citizens for political gain,” he said.

Blue and White Party leader Benny Gantz also voted against the bill.

The haredi Sephardic Shas Party stated on Monday that it would vote in favor of the death penalty bill at the directive of the Council of Torah Sages, after various changes were made to it.

Content of the death penalty bill – Representatives from several Jewish human rights organizations have attended multiple committee discussions, voicing opposition to the bill on ethical grounds.

After the Knesset National Security Committee advanced the bill last week for its final readings, Ben-Gvir called it a “historic moment of justice” and vowed to “continue to lead an uncompromising policy against terrorism.”

The Knesset committee has held marathon discussions on the bill to advance it rapidly, with the discussions continuing amid the war. Opposition lawmakers have sharply criticized the coalition for advancing controversial legislation unrelated to the war during Operation Roaring Lion.

MK  Zvika Fogel (Otzma Yehudit) opened remarks at the plenum on the bill on Monday, saying that “This law is not about revenge or rage, but about the responsibility of a state towards its citizens, the responsibility of leadership towards human life.“

Israel approved a proposal to allocate land at the Allenby Complex in Jerusalem for the construction of a permanent United States Embassy on Tuesday.

The approval was announced in a joint statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar, and Construction and Housing Minister Haim Katz.

Netanyahu, Sa’ar, and Katz described the building of the embassy as a “major diplomatic move” originally set in motion by US President Donald Trump’s “courageous and historic decision during his first term to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the US Embassy there.”

The establishment of the permanent embassy will serve as a “tangible, central, and long-term expression of the US’ commitment to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the resilience of the special relationship between the two countries,” the announcement statement continued.

Trump Postpones Military Strikes Against Power Plants Of Islamic Terrorist State Iran Claiming Very Good And Productive Conversations Happened

An unexpected turn of events just happened as US President Donald Trump announced that America and the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran had very good and productive conversations and already he instructed the Department of War to postpone all military strikes against the Iranian power plants for a period of five days, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post.

US President Donald Trump asserted on Monday that the US and Iran have had “very good and productive” discussions over the last two days regarding a permanent end to the war.

“I am pleased to report that the United States of America, and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf is leading the talks with the United States, a source told The Jerusalem Post.

Trump added that, based on the “tenor and tone” of the discussions, which he described as “in depth, detailed, and constructive,” he had instructed the Department of Defense to postpone planned military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure.

According to the president, the delay will span a five-day period, “subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions.“

Trump’s post contradicts a statement he published on the social media platform the day prior, when the president vowed the US would destroy Iran’s power plants if the Strait of Hormuz was not fully opened within 48 hours.

Iran reportedly denies talks to end war – An Iranian source later denied that the US and Iran were holding talks about ending the war.

“There is no direct contact with Trump, not even through intermediaries. Trump retreated after hearing that our targets would be all power plants in West Asia,” the unnamed source told the Iranian state-affiliated Fars News Agency.

I am surprised by this newest development. Trump previously announced that America would strike the power plants of the terrorist regime if Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours. One has to wonder which Iranians has America been conversing with lately because the Islamic terrorist regime denied such talks happened. Could it be that Trump and his team have some sort of strategic surprise to unleash in due time? Remember that this is clearly not a ceasefire. The operations against the military sites, government sites and missile launchers of Iran were never halted. The clock is ticking and the pressure is only rising.

Trump Threatens To Hit Power Plants Of Islamic Terrorist State Iran If It Does Not Fully Open The Strait Of Hormuz Within 48 Hours

US President Donald Trump threatened to hit various power plants of the Islamic terrorist state of Iran if it refuses to fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post.

The United States will destroy Iran’s power plants if the Strait of Hormuz is not fully opened within 48 hours, US President Donald Trump threatened in a Truth Social post on Saturday night.

“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS,” Trump wrote.

The US strikes will start with “the biggest one [power plant] first,” Trump stated.

Trump’s statement follows a report in Japanese media that Tehran is ready to let Japanese-related vessels pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

The report came from Kyodo News, citing Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Tehran has started talks with Tokyo about possibly opening the Strait, Araghchi told the Japanese news agency in a phone interview on Friday.

Meanwhile, the US and its allies have ramped up efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, deploying low-flying warplanes to strike Iranian boats and Apache helicopters to intercept drones, US officials told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

If the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran refuses to give in to Trump, I would not be surprised. Iran’s wicked leaders prefer to die fighting and terrorizing the region instead of doing things diplomatically. Iran is guilty of not only attacking Israel but also Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Islamist Qatar and others. It is likely the terrorist regime of Iran will remain defiant even though many of its senior leaders and officials have been eliminated. The regime itself is obsessed with death and destruction. Whatever happens, here is hoping that the US-Israel joint forces will bring down the Islamic terrorist regime for good and liberate the oppressed and freedom-hungry Iranians.

National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani And Basij Commander Of Iran Eliminated By Israel

In what can be described as the most significant eliminations since that of the demonic Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) successfully eliminated Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani and Basij Commander Gholamreza Soleimani, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani was killed in a targeted Israeli airstrike in Iran overnight, the IDF and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

Israeli confirmation of the assassination came after three separate sources confirmed to The Jerusalem Post he was targeted in what is the single most momentous targeted killing following the death of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

The military referred to Larijani as “the de facto leader of the Iranian terror regime.”

Basij commander killed along with ‘majority of leadership’ – The IDF also confirmed it had assassinated the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Basij paramilitary militia, Gholamreza Soleimani, and his deputy, Seyyed Karishi. The two were killed in a makeshift tent area, which had been set up to make it harder to follow them as opposed to in a known headquarters.

An Israeli official also confirmed to The Jerusalem Post that the majority of the Basij leadership was eliminated overnight in the Israeli airstrike.

The military also announced that it killed the IRGC’s Aerospace Force chief.

Larijani was due to give public address in Iran on Tuesday – Iranian authorities stated that Larijani was due to give a public address on Tuesday, but two IDF sources expressed skepticism about his making a statement and expressed stronger optimism that the strike succeeded in killing him, before his death was announced.

After Larijani’s death was confirmed, the Mossad Farsi account posted on X/Twitter, saying “In the end, people without mercy will die.”

The Prime Minister’s Office released an image later on Tuesday, which it said captured the moment in which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued the order for the targeted assassinations.

Netanyahu also released a statement via video following confirmation of Larijani’s death, calling him the “boss” of the regime, whom he called a “group of gangsters.”

“We’re undermining the regime, in the hope of giving the Iranian nation the opportunity to get rid of it,” he said. “It won’t happen all at once, it won’t happen easily, but if we commit to it, we’ll be able to give them the chance to take their fates into their own hands.”

Larijani was ‘de-facto leader’ of Iran after Khamenei’s killing – Some have viewed Larijani as the man running the Iranian regime since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated by the IDF, along with Iran’s military chief, IRGC chief, defense minister, and around 40 other top officials on February 28.

Larijani has been the Islamic regime’s most public voice, responding directly to threats and comments by US President Donald Trump and others.

Whereas Mojtaba Khamenei has been technically appointed the next supreme leader, IDF and American intelligence have said he is badly wounded, and given a total lack of public appearances, doubts have been expressed about whether he is actually running the country.

Further, Larijani was promoted to run day-to-day operations for the country and all negotiations with the West over the conflict in the weeks before the war started.

Larijani, on March 1, announced that he would be heading an interim committee for running the country, given Khamenei’s death. However, just because Larijani issued such a statement does not mean that he is for sure calling the shots.

The Iranian leader has had ups and downs with Khamenei, having been an IRGC commander, speaker of parliament, and a national security council chief, but then was disqualified from running for Iranian president to pave the way for Ebrahim Raisi’s election in 2021, and was out of favor for a time.

However, in recent months, Larijani made a comeback as one of the older and still living top advisers to Khamenei, following so many top officials being killed in June 2025, and became Khamenei’s number two, running the country’s day-to-day security affairs and nuclear negotiations with the US.

If Larijani has been the number one official in Iran these last two weeks, and even if he is only one of the top few, killing or wounding him could significantly impact the overall strategic picture.

This development is the latest addition to the number of Islamic terrorist leaders Israel eliminated under the leadership of Prime Minister Netanyahu. With Larijani confirmed dead, one has to wonder who exactly are leading the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran and why is it their chosen so-called supreme leader – son of the demon Ali Khamenei – has not physically emerged.
