There is a new OpenWrt version in release-candidate status ... which in turn means that there's a new busybox version in it ... which in turn means that there's a chance that support will be fixed for me being able to use Unicode text-mode/emoji-mode selectors on SSH window-titles soon.

Although there's also a new dropbear version included as well, so there's a chance it will remain broken. Or be fixed by one update and reunfixed by the other.
