Sobering stuff.
1️⃣ An intense stand-off dominates the second half of this final episode.
2️⃣ The show keeps focus on the victims of the shootings, and on the attempts of the police to bring Moat in alive.
3️⃣ For me, the most shocking aspect is the adoration Moat received from people on social media.
#TheHuntForRaoulMoat 02 (2023) 8/10
1️⃣ I was drawn to this because I love the fantastic true-crime drama #Manhunt starring #MartinClunes. The two shows are similar, but this is more story-driven and lacks a clear protagonist. It also spends more time with the victims and families of victims.
2️⃣ I tuned in expecting to see more of a procedural. The police here seem well-meaning but ineffectual. At least, so far.
#TheHuntForRaoulMoat 01 (2023) - 8/10
Grim true-life crime drama.
1️⃣ First half puts focus on the victims. Good casting means we really feel for them when things go bad.
2️⃣ First takeaway from this: how preventable it all was. An official warning email was sent, but the police didn’t see it in time.
3️⃣ Second takeaway: on social media, people began almost immediately to see the killer as some sort of hero.
