SUSPENSE - THE HITCH HIKER

John 'Jake' McElhaney will do anything to make a sale, absolutely anything. Faced with losing his job, he decides to make his next sale really count, and thinks he has it made when he signs on to work for the Packard twins, two women who have problems sharing and so split everything directly down the middle. Frances makes it clear straight away that she likes Jake, but Jake also plays up to Priscilla, hoping to not only sell the house for the two women but sell each of them homes as well. Unfortunately, the bond between the sisters is stronger than any bond they could form with him.
**Pamela Bowman.** Sleazy executive sleeps with sexy girl in his secluded cabin. Then hears on radio about escaped murderer! Is it her?! It turns into a battle for survival, and a chase through the woods. Loved the misdirection in this one. Great twist at the end. 1st episode I ever saw. One of my favourites. One of the show’s very best. 2nd ep with Nicholas Campbell as the hitchhiker. He gets a lot more to do here than in the first, spending a lot time with the exec (August Schellenberg). 10/10
Bob is a married advertising executive who enjoys picking up women throughout his travels. After picking up the Hitchhiker, he runs into a beautiful blonde who he ends up spending the night with. After hearing a report on the radio that there is an escaped blonde mental patient named Ann Marie Brown on the loose who enjoys slitting men's throats, Bob becomes convinced that the woman he picked up is really the escaped mental patient, but things are not always as they seem.
**Bruce Greenwood.** Jeff marries older woman, gets seduced by hot new stepdaughter. Using supernatural means they plan to murder the wife! Over-the-top ending really commits to the magic. It’s quite something. 1st of 3 eps with Nicholas Campbell as the mysterious hitchhiker. Page Fletcher takes over the role in s2 and is way better. 9/10
Wow! I did not realize that #TheHitchHiker was based on a #RadioPlay written by a woman (#LucilleFletcher). Totally makes sense, though. The female lead narrates her own thoughts!

**Dean Paul Martin, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, Candy Clark.** The story is slight, but the casting is perfect, and it makes for a very enjoyable episode as we watch a sleazy, fast-talking salesman get mixed up with an enigmatic woman. We know it’s all going to end badly… 8/10
