#BartEhrman 讲的#TheHistoricalJesus ，从历史学的角度讲述了耶稣其人。这本书的基本结论就是，耶稣是一个来自乡下的犹太教导师。他持末世论，因为他自称犹太人的王而被罗马人处决。像他这样，持末世论的，“行奇迹”的，自称犹太王，被处决的，犹太教导师不止他一个。他为什么就“开创”了基督教呢？Ehrman在#HowJesusBecameGod 中讲述了何为基督教，耶稣如何被奉为神明。简而言之，基督教即信仰耶稣为基督的宗教。基督Christ源自希腊语的“救世主”，与源自希伯来语的弥赛亚是一个意思。相信耶稣就是救世主，这就是基督信仰。
耶稣如何封神？基督教内部有很多种说法，比如他藉由受洗成为神之子，比如他藉由复活成为神，又比如他是圣灵受孕所生等等。两千年以来，争论不休。
而基督教也不是历史上的耶稣本人所教导的宗教。基督信仰的产生，基于耶稣的受难与复活。毋宁说，基督教是“关于耶稣的宗教”。基督教所倡导的教义，与耶稣所宣导的犹太教教义有本质的不同。

#TheHistoricalJesus 大多在乡村地区传教。他与底层人民为伍，因为他宣扬：在即将降临的神之国度是人人平等的。
在他生命的最后一段时间，可以大致相信的是，他在逾越节之前，与很多犹太人一样，来到耶路撒冷。他悄悄向12门徒宣讲自己将统治即将降临的神之国度，而犹大将此事告诉了犹太教牧师与当权者。后者逮捕了耶稣并进行了一场非正式的听证。耶稣一方没有其他任何人在场，因而听证内容已不可考。第二天，耶稣被交给罗马当局，并被罗马统治者处决。

对于耶稣的生平，我们基本可以相信的是，他是犹太人，出生于一个叫Bethlehem的小地方，母亲叫Mary。耶稣被钉上十字架处死。
作为一个犹太人，他是一神论者，他相信神与以色列人的约定，他也遵从摩西所宣扬的法。
#TheHistoricalJesus 中作者总结到耶稣是一位犹太末世论者（Apocalypticist）。
但他并不是当时当地唯一的末世论者。施洗约翰也是。耶稣教导人们要行善，但这并不是为了美好的现世生活，而是为末世审判做好准备。
在他的时代，还有持其他信仰、并拥有信徒的先知。甚至Jesus，也是个挺普遍的名字。

#TheHistoricalJesus 的作者Prof. #BartEhrman 在书中以历史学研究方法还原作为历史人物的耶稣。头三讲中提到的有趣问题包括，耶稣并不是当时唯一“能行神迹”、拥有支持者的宗教领袖；较早成书的福音书并没有提到童真受孕，而是讲耶稣在受洗时听到神的声音说你是神之子，而当时被称为神之子的，也不止耶稣一人。
