Jeffrey Lee Pierce left this earth.

Always being close to universal pain
his mixture of Post Punk and Blues,
together with The Gun Club or solo,
got to the root of the problem,
that a life in contradiction poses to everyone
who asks not to get an answer
but to drive the question to the brink of abyss and beyond

Since the early days of The Gun Club
I've listened to Jeffrey Lee
always hitting the nerve of being alive
with the intensity of his artistic work.

Totally underrated in rock culture
there are a lot of people out there
who will have a lot to gain by exploring his music.

There was a reissue of this a while back that was uber expensive that had a completely unnecessary second live disc, so I was very happy to find this single LP issue the other day.

Although I do like this album, I’ve never been as gaga over it as some, and I don’t even think it’s their best album (my vote goes to Mother Juno). However, on mornings like this, sometimes you just need a little Sex Beat.
