Since the US/Israeli war on #Iran began, this passage from #TheGreatGatsby has been widely quoted. But I'm uncomfortable.

Sure, this clearly applies to #Trump. The fate of people bombed or displaced doesn't concern him at all.

But it also applies to anyone with so much military power. Every #POTUS has been a careless killer.

The liberal American story of Trump shaming the #USA is false. There is no virtuous incarnation of the violent empire. Trump just omits the usual spin.

The most recent film viewed was the 1974 adaption of The Great Gatsby. This is a story about love, wealth discrepancies, & the social economics of that era. I'm not that familiar with the 1920's but if this was how it was viewed, then not much has changed. The acting and cinematography were great. I'm curious to view the other 2 iterations of this story. Until then, this gets my recommendation. It's a slow burner though, but worth it until the end. #TheGreatGatsby
