If you've read Strauss & Howe's 1997 "The Fourth Turning" or Howe's newest "The Fourth Turning is Here" published last year . . . you'll know what I'm talking about. For those who don't . . . there's a LOT to fill you in on. Per Strauss-n-Howe's "Cycle Theory", society goes through four repeating cycles lasting from 20-to-25 years or so. They researched back to the year 1066 to verify their theory. At the end of each fourth cycle . . . there's a catalyst . . . a galvanizing event that heralds the end of that cycle . . . and presages the beginning of a new one. This strikes me as very inkeeping with the social predictions of #TheFourthTurning. Author #NeilHowe proposes that we are near the end of a "Crisis" phase, which should last another 6-10 years. At which point, some drastic event (war, pandemic, etc) will reset things and we will start the beginning of a new #FirstTurning, or a new "High" phase.
Personally, I can't wait for that to start.
