The newest one I have is the last of @cstross ' #Laundry novels, The Regicide Report.
I don't know if you are ready up in that series, I think this is good so far but probably not an ideal entry point.

#ArtificialNoodle is slightly but amusing.

#Scalzi's #OldMansWar series has another one out, a reasonable continuation. The first one was another good effort at a response to #StarshipTroopers the #Heinlein book not film, and to #Haldeman 's #TheForeverWar

📚 This month’s book is The Forever War by Joe Haldeman
A classic of military science fiction, it tackles war, time travel, and the cost of coming home.

My Brain…Forever Wars and a sloppy blue brushing

I had the pleasure recently of revisiting The Forever War by Joe Haldeman – it’s the umpteenth reread, but with a gap of maybe 15 years since the last. I got to enjoy all the familiar b…

#NickBryant mentioned #MargaretAtwood's #TheHandmaidsTale and American conservative reaction to it in #TheForeverWar. I hadn't read the book or seen the TV series, so I listened to the audiobook version narrated by Elizabeth Moss. Brilliant! 👏 #books
I've never gasped, groaned, or sworn aloud so many times while listening to an audiobook as I did when listening to #TheForeverWar by #NickBryant! It's essential listening/reading for a deeper understanding of #American #history and #politics. 📖🎧 #books #audiobooks

Reminder that the UNDHR includes the ‘Right to rebellion’ - the same right that Jews practiced against Nazi Germany.

I am not normally a fan of #1970s #scifi but #TheForeverWar by #Haldeman is exceptional. Tis like a scifi equivalent to The Red Badge of Courage. Ok, granted, some bits haven't aged well but it's still an insightful piece of work. (I'd say more but avoiding spoilers.)

(Edit- there's a reference to a stargate on page 106 of my copy of The Crow Road by Iain Banks. I am guessing that this book is the influence.)

I have no idea what this game will end up being, but this is a really compelling 5- minute short film.

I had also just finished #TheForeverWar, so I was primed for this kinda of story.

In science fiction, time is often presented as both mundane (“well, duh”) and truly bizarre (“wait, what?!”) simultaneously. I think it was in The Forever War by Joe Haldeman, where starships built later arrived before those built earlier because of technological advances in the interim.
