I would have said that this movie should have taken a number of very different directions, but the reality is that it shouldn't have been made in the first place. Use a similar premise to create a framework for something that didn't have to try, and fail, to connect to an established franchise.
But is that final name reveal actually meant to play like a reveal? Surely not. And yet the space and weight given to it, as well as the crashing score signifying the end, make it seem that way.
