I absolutely loved this "grimdark" fantasy novel—excellent world-building and characterisation.

Will read the rest of The First Law trilogy and then the rest of the books set in this world soon.

Joe Abercrombie and #TheFirstLaw set such a high bar that every time I try something that is recommended as similar (sort of Blacktongue Thief) I find myself disappointed. #TheftofSwords was another such disappointment. Now it’s on to #TheBlackCompany. We’ll see, I guess. But Abercrombie’s specific brand of grimdark seems to be unmatched.
