#TheFederalist piece from #EddyScarry on #Ukraine is... surreal and unhelpful. Consider:

1.) He links to a piece that says 15% of Eastern Ukrainians in 2017 wanted to join Russia... FIFTEEN PERCENT... and says that means a "lot" do.

2.) He says Zelenskyy started the war by being prosecuting a single traitor in 2021, when Russia had already been the invader against the country's sovereign borders for years of simmering war.

3.) That the democratically elected Zelensky is a "dictator" for outlawing, with the support of the democratically elected parliament, parties that are collaborators with a country waging war against them. (If we were at war, would the president be a dictator for invoking American laws against sedition?)

4.) Only people who don't study theology or church matters think there's a serious religious crackdown in Ukraine. American missionaries there regularly point out it is Russia that is the one that brings religious repression on free expression of religious faith.
