A ★½ review of A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989)

Easily my least favorite Freddy flick, which is awful given its a direct sequel to my favorite. There are some good ideas and fun kills, but the execution (pun intended) always seems lacking. Though the Dan dream sequence kill on the motorcycle is badass, it's all brought down by too much convolution and leaning too far into Freddy as a slapstick character, something that would go completely off the rails in the next installment.
