Spock proposed the theoretical existence of silicon based life, but in #ObserverEffect the NX-01crew seemed to indicate that they had been trained on the deadlines of a potential silicon based viral infection.

The Horta are getting resourceful. Soon the Enterprise crew will find messages written on the walls saying "Peace on Janus VI". Although I am impressed at the stagehands *ahem* Horta being able to raise up on its hind legs and push over a conveniently placed support "pillar'.
