Fine song, not so hot on the video. It's less subtle than being hit over the head by a brick, a literal interpretation of the lyrics.

The song raised money for charities Action Aid, War on Want, and Save the Children - they'd banded together to be the Disasters Emergency Committee.

The lyric conveys a social message, lamenting how complete settlements have been abandoned by those who claim to rule.

By being wrapped in such a pleasant sound, and with Garry Christian the most lovable baldie since Richard O'Brien, they can smuggle the message into places where it wouldn't normally fit.

Lead single from their third album, an optimistic prayer that things can actually get better; the rest of the album goes through some dark and depressing places before finding some resolution.
