In Public.

Goodbye Canada, Trump renounces annexing the 51st State.

AGI - The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has abandoned plans to annex Canada after months of speaking about making it the “fiftieth state” of the Union. “They have two hundred years of history and all that ‘Oh Canada’ nonsense, you can’t solve that in three and a half years, I imagine it won’t happen,” Trump explained in the Oval Office to Robert Hardman. “They still recognize the King [of England?]. Or have they already stopped?” the American president then asked.

The conversation between Trump and the British author, biographer of the British Royal Family, was excerpted from the book “Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. The Inside Story,” which is being published in installments by the Daily Mail.

Revelations from the book
In the book, Hardman recalls that in his conversation with Trump, which took place months ago, the president had asked whether the Canadians still considered Charles III their king and had backed down from his expansionist intentions due to his respect for the British monarch.

Trump had nevertheless emphasized that the neighboring country is governed by “terrible politicians” and that Washington is only interested in the southern territory where most Canadians live. “The problem is that some guy drew this straight line to make a border,” Trump had said, according to Hardman, “it should have simply marked it fifty miles further north and there wouldn’t have been any problems.”
