Hubs and I were wondering if The Boulevard in Ivanhoe is still worth the visit. Looked it up - got closed down during 2020/1, and this year council decided it could go ahead but they wouldn’t endorse it and there’d be no advertising.
Sister took her fam today and said there’s only a fraction of the houses decked out with #ChristmasLights, thin crowd, not really worth it. She’s sad. I’m sad. There goes a fave tradition from our childhood 😔 Thanks, covid!
#Ivanhoe’s suburban annual Christmas light show this year didn’t disappoint.
Residents along #TheBoulevard and neighbouring streets self-fund and go to the painstaking trouble of decorating their properties’ with lights and colourful #Christmas themes, every single year.
It attracts thousands over a couple of weeks, leading up to Christmas.
Tonight there were traffic controllers directing vehicles through safely to reduce congestion and to keep parents, kids and onlookers safe and sound.
Most had my kids in the shots - these are a handful of the scenes.
Thank you for the astounding efforts and Christmas cheer of Ivanhoe’s residents!
