I am delving in The Bard's Tale Trilogy atm just as the holiday-month is starting. The remaster from a few years ago. But as with most remasters I always have the urge to go back to the originals. So I ended up trying to get this old C64-version to run but unfortunately failed. The one with the best graphical representation of the game imho.
Don't get me wrong, the quality of life improvements of remasters are almost always appreciated (I don't have the time anymore to sketch the dungeon levels in graph paper) but the "new" graphics mostly break my immersion.
Why is the game(play) considered worth preserving but the graphics are not? This is so sad.
