5 years ago David Paul died just two days before his 63rd birthday.
He and his twin brother Peter were known as "The Barbarian Brothers". They played together in films like "The Barbarians" (1987), "Think Big" (1990) and "Double Trouble" (1992).

One of my favorite features on one of my favorite radio stations is Corny O'Connell's "Question of the Day" on WFUV out of New York City. This morning's question had to do with hair. My suggestion was "Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl" by The Barbarians. "With your long blonde hair You look like a girl." It pleases me to say Corny went with it. This track never made the Billboard Top 40 but its memory outlived many records that did. The Barbarians laid some claim to being the first punk band. It definitely came with a garage punk quality. WFUV has a very large audience stretching through a big part of the United States and probably abroad. It is easy to access through its excellent mobile app.
