Court removes Prime Minister Srettha from office in another ruling shaking up Thailand's politics
Thailand's Constitutional Court has removed Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin from office over an ethics violation. It's the second major court action shaking up Thai politics after the main opposition party was ordered dissolved last week. Wednesday's ruling involved Srettha's appointment of a Cabinet member who had been jailed over an alleged bribery attempt. The court voted 5-4 against Srettha and the ruling removed him from office immediately. The Cabinet will remain in place on a caretaker basis until Parliament approves a new prime minister. There is no time limit for Parliament to fill the position.

Debt-stricken Sri Lanka signs a free trade pact with Thailand
Debt-stricken Sri Lanka has signed a trade pact with Thailand in a bid to boost trade and investment as the Indian ocean island nation is struggling to recover from its worst economic crisis that hit two year ago. The Sri Lanka Thailand Free Trade Agreement covering trade in goods, investment, custom procedures and intellectual property rights was signed in the capital Colombo on Saturday in the presence of Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. Sri Lanka began talks with Thailand on a free trade agreement in 2016. The countries’ two-way trade was worth about $352 million in 2022.

Una volta approvato dal Consiglio dei Ministri, il disegno di legge sarà trasmesso al Parlamento per la deliberazione.
