I've been to several of these Thai restaurants, including top rated P.Thai Khao Mon Gai.

Verdict: Little Thailand in Del Valle is my hands-down favorite.

Everything on the menu is great, but their Boat Noodles is the absolute banger!!!

It has coconut milk for richness and obligatory pig blood, and (IMO) slays P.ThaiKMG's unpleasantly bitter version.

Fast and furious. And hot. And garlicky. Pad Prik Khing Gai from Kiin — chicken thighs silkened with tapioca starch and cooked in red curry paste with loads of garlic and chilies. At the end, they are sweetened with a touch of palm sugar and oyster sauce and flavored with kaffir lime leaves.

I couldn’t come up with a better pairing than papaya salad.

Here’s the annual mieng kum, or miang kham, from our very first — now almost 28 year old — Thai cookbook.

Savory-sweet shrimp paste based relish is flavored with galangal, fish sauce, roasted shallots, and coconut. It complements the fixings — roasted peanuts, shallots, roasted shaved coconut, dried shrimp, chopped lime, Thai Dragon peppers, and ginger — that go into leaf wraps beautifully. Each bite is a surprise with different levels of hot, and sweet, and salty, and sour, and umami.

An interactive meal that is hard to beat.
