What amuses me about the whole GMMTV HL thing is that it's also actually subversive. It's not just cute/funny/etc.

Romances between a (usually straight) man and woman typically have what is called "unmarked status." They're just "romcoms" "romances" etc.

Unmarked status normalizes one thing while othering the other.

And referring to their shows that are centered around a M/W ship as HLs takes away that unmarked status.
