A good bit of Texas folklore concerns so-called "mystery lights" and the stories that have grown up around them.

In Saratoga, TX, some say a ghost with a lantern is searching for his lost head.

"According to local legend, the light on Bragg Road is the ghostly lantern of an unfortunate railroad employee. Decapitated in a wreck, his spirit now walks the road nightly, eternally searching for his head."
