A Carolina wren in our backyard. Not quite as sharp as I'd like, had the shutter speed set a bit too low for the 600mm lens I was using. Austin, Texas, USA. March 4th, 2026.

A double-crested cormorant holds its wings open after a dive, water still clinging to dark feathers as its reflection ripples below. A classic drying posture, perfectly mirrored on calm water. 🪶 #bird #DoubleCrestedCormorant #Cormorant #BirdPhotography #WildlifePhotography #TexasBirds
A Yellow-rumped Warbler tucked into thorny branches, perfectly at home where most birds won’t linger. These small details are easy to miss until you slow down and really look. 🐦

Pretty sure I saw an Eastern Meadowlark at the birdfeeder twice today. Once from only a few feet away. It was hanging from the bottom of the feeder, trying to get at the birdseed, so I couldn't see all of it, but what I could see, I'm pretty sure it was, which is cool because they're rare in this part of Texas. I wish I was able to get a picture! #Birds #Texas #TexasBirds
