For the fourth time since 2013, Texas Monthly has released its prestigious list of the state’s top 50 barbecue spots. Eight Houston-area restaurants made the cut in 2025, with one cracking the top 10.

Houston's Truth Barbeque, located at 110 S. Heights Blvd., was ranked ninth in the state. It was the only Houston-area restaurant to make this year’s top 10-list.

CorkScrew BBQ owners say Michelin star has caused boom in interest

The Spring restaurant is run by Will and Nichole Buckman, who have lived in the town north of Houston for most of their lives. The popularity of CorkScrew has grown in recent years from word-of-mouth.

Houston to host unveiling of Michelin Guide’s first Texas restaurant list

The venue has not yet been selected and the event will be invite only. Currently there are not three-star Michelin restaurants in Texas.

Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue in Tomball. I thought the brisket was just okay, but the poblano sausage, cornbread casserole, and bacon coleslaw were amazing!
