The scenarios range from fortified buffer zones to democratic showcases and managed reconciliation. These scenarios were developed within the ESPON CHANEBO project and are intended to stimulate reflection on Europe’s strategic choices and their territorial consequences, rather than being predictions. Can border regions shift from being Europe’s periphery to becoming its laboratories of resilience?
